The Joy

Redefining global music
  • zo 17 aug.

The Joy is a South African band redefining global music with their soul-stirring harmonies and genre-blending sound. Hailing from KwaZulu-Natal, the group has captured hearts worldwide with accolades and collaborations that highlight their rapid rise to fame.

From their viral debut single Isencane Lengane and the critically acclaimed EP Amabutho (2021) to electrifying performances on platforms like The Jennifer Hudson Show and Later… with Jools Holland, The Joy continues to break boundaries. Their music has garnered praise from Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, and Jennifer Hudson, who has hailed them as her favorite band and featured them on her Christmas album The Gift of Love.

Their collaborations span global icons, including a feature with Doja Cat and their 2023 project with The Blessed Madonna, Shades of Love, which charted on major playlists like BBC Radio 1. More recently, The Joy reimagined a selection of three songs from their self-titled live album, recorded at Church Studios in London, where greats like Adele and Stevie Wonder have also recorded. These reimagined tracks were released as The Remixes, a vibrant EP created in collaboration with local DJs.

Whether on international stages like The Great Escape or through social media, The Joy’s message is clear: “Life made us friends, music made us brothers.” Their artistry is a celebration of culture, connection, and pure euphoria.
